As you know by now, this is a cats and dogs problem, and another company (it’s not just Menu Foods) has recently recalled one particular brand of cat food that had it’s wheat gluten supplied from the melamine-tainted supplier to Menu Foods. Although no sicknesses or deaths have been formally reported, they are taking proactive steps in what appears to be the right direction.

Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Inc. (the company that also makes Science Diet) announced today that it is recalling Prescription Diet m/d Feline dry food from the market for having small amounts of melamine detected in its contents (it’s not just wet foods… anything with wheat gluten is suspect)
