I guess this is one small reason to like President GWBush (a dog owner himself): In October 2006, he signed a little-noticed federal law, the Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards Act. Basically, communities cannot get their disaster relief money unless they promise to take care of their domesticated and service animals.
