Claire Cummings from the Globe covered an innovative new program in Boston called the Noah’s Ark Foster Care program which aims to provide shelter for pets displaced due to turmoil in the household. The privately funded program realizes that its not just people who are affected by abusive household situations and tells the story of a child abuser who threatened the little girls’ pets lives as a way to keep her quiet.
“If they’re beating their girlfriends or wives or children, the animals are absolutely secondary,” said Hill, who leads the family justice division of the Police Department. “The animal means nothing. It’s kind of a sociopathic way of thinking.”
