I think that is is terrible all the ads for free to good home… help we need to find our pet a home. Why get an animal only to pass it on to someone else when the cute puppy/kitten phase is over. I think people are horrible!! Your poor pet you chose to have now is being given away! Why?? Oh it doesn’t fit your lifestyle, you can’t move to the condo you want, you found a boyfriend/girlfriend that doesn’t want a pet. You should be ashamed of yourself. You are so unfit! Don’t get a pet unless you plan on keeping it!!!!!! God people are so stupid and selfish. These pets don’t know what they did wrong. Please take my pet off my hands.. I hope you never have kids or there will be kid shelters sprouting up. Selfish people. Give away a 4 year old cat, or a 2 year old dog. Do the world a favor and NEVER get another animal again.

The fact is that most people understand that you never know why someone is giving away a pet whether it be a new family member, an allergy, lack of affordable housing in Boston (new apt that doesn’t accept dogs), or for various other reasons. The reality is that in Boston, very few (if any) shelter dogs get euthanized (are killed) because of the amount of support the shelters get from the community. In fact I read an article recently about a shelter in Sterling, MA, that buses dogs up north from down south because of the limited supply of dogs up here.
