(AP) MINNEAPOLIS â A financial reward for information in the death and beheading of a teenage girlâs dog has been raised to $10,000.
The Humane Society first offered $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case. The agency now says it is increasing the amount after getting pledges and donations from the public.
The Australian Shepherd, Chevy, belonged to a 17-year-old St. Paul girl. About two weeks ago, she opened a gift-wrapped box that had been sent to her house and found the dogâs head inside.
Homicide police are investigating because of the implied threat to the family.
Police have said the motive is unclear and that the suspect likely knew the family.

When I read this, I felt absolutely awful. That poor kid, that poor dog. That sick a-hole who did this, I hope they put him in prison forever.

Me too - I debated putting it up on the site, but it’s a shame how some people still don’t value a dogs life as much as they should.
