Five Tips for Choosing a Pet Sitter

Boarding your dog in a daycare or kennel is a reality for many folks, and the benefits are mainly convenience and assurance that your dog is in good hands. However, due to the amount of dogs, there is more potential for your dog coming home with sickness or injury.
Choosing a pet sitter is a great alternative to boarding your dog but it helps to be very cautious about selecting a sitter.

5 Tips for Choosing a Pet Sitter:

  • Schedule far in advance
  • Make sure the sitter has everything s/he needs in order to take care of your pet
  • Provide a list of emergency phone numbers
  • Make sure you have enough food to last your entire time away
  • Make use of organizations like Pet Sitters Associates and NAPPS, who provide support for pet sitters. Be aware these organizations do not monitor each and every sitter, so it’s crucial to interview the pet sitter to make sure they on your the same page as you.
