Romney’s Dog On Roof Trip

June 29th, 2007 · 1 Comment

One of the hard things about being a presidential candidate is that your past is widely exposed for everyone in the world to read and criticize. Romney’s campaign suffered a bite when news broke about his past habit of putting his dog (inside the crate) on the roof of the station wagon.

Romney placed his family dog, an Irish setter named Seamus, into a kennel lashed to the top of his station wagon for a 12-hour family trip from Boston to Ontario in 1983. Despite being shielded by a wind screen the former Massachusetts governor erected, Seamus expressed his discomfort with a diarrhea attack.

It does seem extremely ridiculous to have a dog up there for that long…

He prides himself on being Mr. Efficiency. Clearly that is his number-one priority. Compassion is not even on the list. This is cruelty to animals.
