Truth Revealed about Ellen’s Dog Iggy (PoochGate)

October 29th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Frankly, I was too busy and slightly confused to quickly be able to understand what the heck was happening when I heard and saw the replayed Ellen sobfest about the loss of her and her partner’s - Portia de Rossi - dog Iggy. I tend to be a bit skeptical of celebrities crying on TV and putting their personal lives and opinions on display, so when I saw this from a Ellen - a very funny woman I must say - I was a little disappointed… she usually makes fun of stuff like this!

Anyway, the Smoking Gun has gotten to the bottom of this for us… just like they got to the bottom of those fake anti-Bush letters from Dan Rather a while ago.

Here is the link, which contains an email exchange between Portia, Martina Baktis (Mutts and Moms adoption agency), and Cheryl Marks (Ellen’s hairdresser).

In my opinion, it was stupid on two counts. Portia/Ellen should have asked Mutts and Mom’s what their policy was (or should have known about it) but at the same time, it seems like Cheryl was providing a very nice home for Iggy. To get the LA police involved to rip the dog out of the hands of the new family was really bad by Mutts and Moms… and Ellen and Portia also get negative points in my book for not knowing what the heck they were doing when they gave up their new pet after only a month.

So after you read the emails… watch the video.

I think Ellen should be a shame of herself. The only one that suffered was the agency that saved dogs.
