What My Dog Has Shown Me

March 12th, 2007 · No Comments

This story was sent in to DogBoston awhile back anonymously in a contest we held for free tickets to the Bay Colony Dog Show. Unfortunately the author wasn’t able to claim her tickets but now that the DogBoston website is going through some spring cleaning, I figured I’d dust this off and share it.
What My Dog Has Shown Me

My dog has changed my life by showing me you cannot always take the conventional path and have success.

Sometimes you have to take a different approach for the result you desire. Sometimes it takes a little longer.

Sometimes you need to put your own needs aside and see the other being you are dealing with.

My dog has shown me how to communicate instead of demand.

He has also shown me that good leadership means assertive, not aggressive.

To be a decent, strong leader you need to soften your heart, not harden it.

Aggressive behavior from a hard heart is the road to madness.

Assertive, consistent leadership from an open heart is the road to a truly workable relationship.

My dog has changed my life by showing me how to be a more patient, caring and understanding individual.

I am his world and I owe him mine but he would never take it.
